I have been working on a new series of acrylic paintings. Some are real places, like the view from the boat above, some just “turn up” on the canvas during the painting process. I have also been experimenting with palette knife painting, something I have done very little of in the past but wanted to try.
Air and Water, above, is done with palette knives. It began life with a red underpainting and completely abstract intentions. It was fun to build up the layers.
I had some paint left over from my larger painting and decided to use it for this little abstract . This one literally painted itself! Palette knife again.
