This week’s creation is an artful rabbit, made as a birthday gift for an artist friend. He is made with a wire armature and therefore very posable as you will see in the photos below. It was fun to learn how to blend wool colors for the nose, ears and tail. The white wool I used was batting, which is short fibers that felt really well to make a smooth surface, hence he is not a very furry rabbit. I also got to practice eyes again. A while ago I ordered some glass eyes which I thought I would be using for all my creatures, but I actually prefer to felt the eyes myself.
The happy rabbit dancing!
Rabbit meets Serenity the Dragon and learns a few things about the felted world of the fairies.
Rabbit has had enough of posing for photos….
Ok, just leave me alone to sleep!
It was a busy day for this little rabbit - too much painting and dancing led to a whole lot of snoozing. Hoppy days! :)
